Jury Selected for Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Trial
A six-man, six-woman jury was selected today for the trial about to unfold concerning the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Michael Jackson's mother against the concert promoter AEG. A judge has already dismissed many of the lawsuit's original claims, leaving intact an allegation of negligent hiring regarding Conrad Murray. Murray appealed his conviction today, his lawyer arguing in a 230-page brief that her client was made to be an example due to his patient's high-profile status and that multiple legal errors that were committed at trial.

Prince Could Testify in Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Suit
Katherine Jackson intends to call Prince as a witness in her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG, according to TMZ. Michael Jackson's mom and three kids are seeking $40 billion in damages from AEG or its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray. According to documents filed earlier this month, Katherine's legal team plans to call nearly 100 witnesses, one of them being Prince. Prince and Michael Jackson never collaborated, but Katherine's legal team believes Prince had a bad experience with AEG in the past that could be relevant.

Prince Jackson Plans on Testifying at Wrongful Death Lawsuit Trial
Michael Jackson's son Prince plans on testifying at the wrongful death lawsuit trial on behalf of his father.“Prince absolutely plans on testifying,” a family insider tells Radar. “His grandmother, Katherine, filed the lawsuit against AEG, which was the concert promoter for Michael’s comeback concerts that were scheduled to take place in London. Katherine contends that AEG was responsible for her son’s death because they were responsible for hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to be his physician. “Prince very much wants to take the stand and plans to tell jurors about specific conversations he had with his father about AEG. Prince will also testify about the fateful day his father died, as he was an eyewitness to the efforts that were made to save his life. There are no plans for either Paris or Blanket to testify though.”
Katherine suffered a legal setback this past week when a California court dismissed all of her claims against AEG and its president, Tim Leiweke. All but one of her claims against the remaining defendants were dismissed and the California Court of Appeals ordered Michael’s medical records unsealed.The remaining defendants have filed legal documents with the Court of Appeal in California to dismiss the one claim, on the question of whether AEG Live negligently hired Murray, Jackson’s long time personal physician.

Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Suit Heads to Trial
A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday ruled that lawyers for the Jackson's have shown enough evidence for their wrongful-death suit against the promoter to proceed to a jury trial next month.
The decision came after the Jackson team presented an alleged email demonstrating that AEG had supervised Michael's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and is currently serving a four-year prison sentence after administering a fatal dose of the hospital anesthetic propofol and sedatives to the singer.
The family claims the intense pressure AEG put on Murray to have Jackson ready to perform at rehearsals for his 2009 This Is It concert comeback at London's O2 arena despite his exhausted condition is what ultimately killed him."Now that the court has ruled that there is evidence that it was forseeable that AEG's actions resulted in Michael Jackson's death, the Jackson family feels vindicated from the public smear campaign that AEG has waged against them," Jackson attorney Kevin Boyle told CNN. "The truth about what happened to Michael, which AEG has tried to keep hidden from the public since the day Michael died, is finally emerging. We look forward to the trial where the rest of the story will come to light."
