Jeanne Cooper, the longest-running cast member from The Young and the Restless, died today at the of age 84. Her son Corbin Bernsen posted the news on Facebook, saying, "My mother passed away this morning just a short time ago, peaceful with my sister by her side, in her sleep." She had fallen ill with an infection earlier this year after helping promote "Y&R's" 40th anniversary. CBS President Nina Tassler released the following statement regarding the tragic news: "Jeanne Cooper will be remembered as a daytime television legend and as a friend who will truly be missed by all of us here at the Network."
