Oscar Pistorius Returns to Track for Training
“Oscar has decided to resume a low-key track routine,” spokeswoman Anneliese Burgess said yesterday in a statement on behalf of the Pistorius family. “Oscar is not contemplating a formal return to athletics and his training is not aimed at preparing for competition.” Burgess said Pistorius’s family encouraged him to train for a few hours each week to “assist him in finding the necessary mental and emotional equilibrium to process his trauma and prepare for the [trial]”. “His focus, at this point, remains entirely on the court case.” Pistorius is set to appear in court again on August 19.
